Seated concert
With 4 musicians: guitarist, pianist, drummer and cellist
Les Frangines is an acoustic guitar-vocals duo. Two long-time friends united by a bond of musical sisterhood, around subtle, literate pop-folk.
Nano and Jass have formed the duo Les Frangines for over four years. Over acoustic guitar chords, their two voices harmonise in obvious harmony.
The wandering moods of their compositions bring them close to French-language variety groups such as Debout sur le Zinc and the Cowboys Fringants, who have graced past editions of Pluralies.
A particular sensitivity to the beauty and potential of the French language, honed during their literary studies, is expressed in the writing of their texts, weaving multiple consonances and poetic correspondences, and occasionally drawing on great classics (Demain dès l'aube, where they sing the verses of Victor Hugo).
While their songs are an invitation to a bucolic, bohemian escapade, they are also in touch with major contemporary dramas. The tragic fate of Syria is the subject of their song Le Cri d'Alep.
Having taught themselves to play guitar and sing, the two musicians are enjoying growing success, with their YouTube channel now boasting over a million views.
