La Fée Verte's secret garden features the plants (perennials) used to produce absinthe: angelica, fennel, lemon balm, peppermint, speedwell, coriander, not forgetting small and large absinthes, as well as a collection of wormwood.
At the beginning of June, the plants in the garden are vigorous. This is the time of year when they generously offer up their foliage and scents.
You'll also discover the chalot in which the plants are dried after being harvested in summer, with a view to distillation in the future. You'll also be able to see the insect hotel with its "tenants" and their beneficial effects in the fight against aphids, for example.
You can also taste absinthe. There's a whole ritual involved in serving this legendary aperitif. A ritual that sharpens the senses as much as the taste buds. All weekend long, you can taste them at the Paul Devoille distillery, adjacent to the garden.
Visiting the secret garden of the Fée Verte means immersing yourself in the skills involved in making absinthe.
