Every spring, the cherry trees cover the territory of Fougerolles-Saint-Valbert with their millions of white flowers. But the town also knows how to reveal to attentive and curious hikers its preserved built heritage at every turn of the path.
A succession of streams, orchards, calvaries and other farms typical of the plateau and valleys of the Pays de la Vôge will be revealed to walkers.
Walk along the Pierres-de-Roûge path and admire its imposing blocks of purplish sandstone.
From the Tourist Office, take rue de l'Église, rue du Parc then rue des Jardins. Turn right, go past the distillery and continue to the end of the street. Turn left and continue on small paths until you reach a road which you follow on the right.
Leave the road and take a path on the left across the fields. Continue to the hamlet of Le Boigeot. Go past the chapel and at the fork in the road stay on the road down to Fougerolles-le-Château.
At the crossroads with the departmental road, turn right and then left over the bridge. At the fork, turn left and then right. Take a grassy path on your right that goes around the castle. Turn left onto the road and continue to the hamlet of Chez Jean Dicotet.
On the top of the hamlet, take the path across the field which goes to the left. On the right, go down into the forest. Cross the stream and continue on the path that leads to the Pierres-de-Roûge. On the site, there are educational panels on the history, geology and local fauna and flora.
At the end of the site, take the path that goes down to the left to La Ramouse. Reach the road and at the intersection stay on the left-hand road.
After about 150m turn right onto a track through the fields. After reaching the road, take the second street on the left and cross the bridge to reach the Tourist Office by the Grande Rue.
