This rare 7th century place of pilgrimage
and prayer, conserved in the East of France,
was created by Irish monks including Saint
Colomban. A peaceful place, where the
architecture integrates harmoniously with the
natural setting of great sobriety, it also houses
a 60 hectare animal park.
See: the saint’s grotto, turned into an
underground Chapel in the 17th century; the
well and the buildings of the 18th century; the
“devil’s stone” and the large fountain.
