The southern vosges are renowned for its thermal waters, such as those at Luxeuil-les-Bains. The water is good for your health in the form of baths, but did you know that there is another spring in the Southern Vosges that is also good to drink?
It's the water from Velleminfroy, a spring with particularly interesting virtues... Known for many years by the villagers, it can now be found in local shops, to everyone's delight!
Discovered in 1828, the original source of Velleminfroy water was the pride of the local people, who came here to draw the virtuous water. In 1859, it was officially recognised as a "natural mineral water" by decree of the Imperial Academy of Medicine.
Since 1992, another spring has been used to produce Velleminfroy water, which is now bottled at the factory in the Château-Grenouille area. The showroom gives you a glimpse of the production line: a veritable dance of bottles and machines!
Velleminfroy water has a number of rare virtues: it is nitrite-free, rich in mineral salts and has an interesting profile for magnesium and calcium, making it an exceptional water to drink from an early age!
