The 1000 étangs : an ideal playground for nature lovers

Shaped by glaciers over 12,000 years ago, the plateau of the 1000 étangs offers numerous possibilities for excursions: hiking, mountain biking, museums, villages of character, fishing, horse riding... In all seasons, the plateau amazes visitors by the beauty of its unique landscapes in the region. It is sometimes even nicknamed "Little Finland".

Between forests and peat bogs, fields and villages, and of course, the numerous ponds, this region is rich and fascinating! 220 km2 of an extraordinary playground between Melisey, Servance, the Col des Croix and Faucogney.
