Théâtre : Dorphé aux enfers, Orléans 69
According to a rumour that first appeared in 1969, the fitting rooms of six clothing shops in Orléans were in fact traps for young women. Drugged by injections, they would disappear through a trapdoor under the cubicle and be evacuated via underground passages to... a pocket submarine under the Loire, to be delivered to the white slave trade. Dorphé aux Enfers, Orléans 69'' is a play based on real events, eyewitness accounts and sociological essays, all of which are essential if we are to understand what happened in the spring of 1969. We are in the tradition of what we call "documentary theatre". But Luc Tartar's play is also tinged with fantasy.
At a time when we can no longer count the fake news that clutters social networks, how can we put the events in Orleans at the time into perspective with these contemporary rumours? Wouldn't hope come from young people, from their ability to develop free will and re-enchant the world?
