Built in 1617 and enlarged in 1685, this organ is one of the oldest in Franche-Comté
The organ case, an imposing 17th century oak work, is supported by an atlas.
Each panel, separated by atlatls, is decorated with a medallion: in the centre, Christ handing over the keys to St Peter, on the right, St Cecilia at the organ, and on the left, King David playing the harp
The mechanism has 44 stops and 3,137 pipes
You can always hear the organ resounding in the basilica during the concerts organized by the friends of the organ of Luxeuil-les-Bains and the association the 15h non stop of the organ.
