Nine kilns were unearthed between 1980 and 1987 by the Groupe de Recherches Archéologiques de Luxeuil (G.R.A.L). Almost all of them are in an exceptional state of preservation, mainly because they are set into the sandstone at the top of the hill. A central heating area, also cut into the bedrock, opens onto eight of the nine kilns.
The circular oven discovered less than twenty centimetres below the current floor is the best preserved. This kiln is a fine example of a sigillated pottery kiln (red ceramic decorated with relief motifs). Classified as a Historic Monument in 1988, the set of nine Gallo-Roman kilns has become a major part of Luxovia's archaeological heritage.
The site is only accessible during events.
