Remarkable civil building
Maison du Cardinal Jouffroy
Cardinal Jouffroy was the 70th abbot of Luxeuil-les-Bains from 1449 to 1468. This house has one of the oldest suspended stone balconies in France. This large house, built in the 15th and 16th centuries for a rich merchant family, has welcomed many illustrious guests such as the historian Augustin Thierry, the writer André Theuriet and Louis XI. The porch of this residence leads to a magnificent garden laid out in the 18th century.
