When his father Marcel died, Christian discovered a photo of him in 1940, surrounded by leading figures of the Resistance. What follows is a fascinating (en)quest in which Christian gradually unearths his father's secrets...
The audience is plunged into a suspenseful story punctuated by constant to-ing and fro-ing between past and present, in which Christian may well reveal the shadows that hang over his family history...
Le Secret des Ombres recreates a whole part of our collective history through the individual destinies of its characters, showing the ties that bind them together in the midst of this troubled period. And we discover history through a story, or even stories. This play questions our free will, as much as the importance of transmission, the keystone of our existence.
